Low carb and sugar, good taste
From Jessica of Minneapolis, Minnesota on 4/6/2016.
I have been trying other whey and blended protein powders for MANY years now, and always found 3 things wrong with them: 1) they didn't blend well with the liquid I was using, be it milk, water, or other, 2) they were VERY high in sugar and carbs, and 3) they tasted gritty and chalky.I found a cannister of Designer Lite Chocolate Cookies & Cream powder in my local Cub Foods, and decided to give it a try. I'm working on weight loss and building leaner muscle over the summer, and this seemed like an inexpensive and yet still tasty way of adding protein powders into my daily diet. The Nutrition Information noted that this was the lowest sugar and carb content protein powder I'd ever come across, and it gave me some options for creating yogurt and milk-based shakes as well as straight up mixes. My first impression of the protein powder was, admittedly, that it tasted nothing like cookies and cream and had a bit of a gritty taste to it. I put that down to my malfunctioning blender and tried again several weeks later. I still think it has a slightly-gritty powder taste to it from the powder not blending smoothly with the liquid, but overall it's a good protein powder! Just the right hint of sweetness without being overpowering, and I don't feel guilty about something with super-high carb counts going in my body when I'm in a mostly-sedentary mood.I bought the Cookies and Cream flavor first, and I'm not the world's biggest fan of mixing it with water. I keep the protein powder at my office where I need the boost of protein most during my workday, and I can't always mix it with milk as is recommended. However, that being said, it still doesn't taste BAD, and it does exactly what I need it to do - fills me up enough that I can make it through the 10am and 3pm slumps when I don't have fruit at my desk.Overall - I am very impressed with Designer Lite protein powders, and WILL be buying other flavors. Thank you for making them available online as I can't find them in my local store!

Vanilla cupcake is the best protein powder I have found. It makes the best smoothies in my opinion. I found the vanilla cupcake in a BI-LO store out of town and when I ran out, I thought I could just go to my BI-LO store but they didn't have the vanilla cupcake. I have been going crazy trying to find it so thank you so much for letting us buy your product online! My smoothies have been awful without the vanilla cupcake protein powder.

This protein powder definitely has a great taste! I would say it is more chocolate than cookies and cream, but still a great flavor!

This is very good and does not leave aftertaste. This product would be excellent if it mixed as well as the regular one. Lite has a slight undermixed taste of powder. Any suggestions?

I am very picky when it comes to protein and it took years for me to find one that I love. Designer has the very best! Vanilla Cupcake is by far my favorite.
